Norwegian, Erling Haaland has now reached 30 goals in all competitions this season with club and country, with today’s brace against Estonia raising his tally to 53 goals in 47 games for Norway. Estonia we’re helpless against a Haaland-led attack from Norway at the Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo today as the hosts maintain a perfect group 1 record, placing them six points ahead of Italy while also taking them ever closer to their first World Cup since 1998.
However, they may only miss the competition if they lose their final match, Italy wins their last two, and overturn a 17 goal difference, a highly unlikely situation. The brace today has now solidified Haaland’s position as Norway’s all-time leading scorer, while setting another record as the first player to reach 30 goals, with only one being from the penalty spot.
Game Overview

The game was off to a shabby start with the first period ending with both sides managing to get just a shot on target. Antonio Nusa caused the most trouble for Norway from the left but the star player Haaland was only able to produce a single harmless header which was no trouble for Karl Hein.
5 minutes into the second half, Alexander Sørloth was able to get on the end of Sander Berge’s cross to head into the net, sending the home crowd into a huge frenzy. 120 seconds later, the visitors found themselves lacking from the same position as Sørloth was able to head in a second from a similar position.
The excitement of the hosts were multiplied when forward, Haaland nodded home a similar ball to Sørloth’s in the 56th minute with an assist from Ryerson. The star man soon got a second through a clinical volley into the roof of the net after David Møller Wolfe flicked the ball towards the back post.

Estonia we’re not without consolation as they were able to pull one back through Robi Saarma’s poke past Nyland, his first ever goal for Estonia.
