Galatasaray vs Fenerbahçe is the loudest night on the Turkish football calendar, and tonight it lands with a title race attached. The Intercontinental Derby kicks off at 6.30pm UK time, which is 7.30pm in Nigeria and 9.30pm in Istanbul, at a packed RAMS Park. Leaders Galatasaray have 19 points, third-placed Fenerbahçe have 16, and just three points separate them.
Osimhen v Muriqi: The Battle of the Strikers

Two forwards are on fire. Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen has scored six league goals in six matches, and he has three goals in five derbies against Fenerbahçe. Galatasaray did not lose any of them.

Fenerbahçe’s answer is Vedat Muriqi, who has seven goals in eight games. Osimhen also arrives in a happy mood after scoring in Galatasaray’s 4-2 win at Lille in the Champions League this week.
RAMS Park Is a Fortress

Galatasaray have not lost a league game at home in 39 matches. Their last home league defeat came late in the 2023-24 season. Mighty Tips notes that Fenerbahçe have failed to score in four of their last six visits.

The last derby was brutal for the visitors. In April, Galatasaray won 3-0 at RAMS Park with goals from Osimhen, a Barış Alper Yılmaz penalty and Lucas Torreira. Fenerbahçe were reduced to ten men, and Anderson Talisca missed a penalty.
Team News

Fenerbahçe are without Marco Asensio, who has had knee cartilage surgery.

Nathan Aké is also expected to miss about three weeks with a hamstring injury picked up against Slavia Prague, where Fenerbahçe drew 2-2 in the Champions League.

Osimhen is expected to lead the line for the hosts. Confirmed line-ups should land about an hour before kick-off.
The Coaches Have Records to Chase

Okan Buruk could win his fifth Süper Lig game against Fenerbahçe as Galatasaray coach. That would equal Gündüz Kılıç for the second-most wins over them by a Galatasaray manager. İsmail Kartal, on the other side, is chasing his fourth derby win.
Head-to-Head

The all-time record is almost too close to call. Fenerbahçe have 61 wins, Galatasaray 58, and 54 games have ended level.
