The Hill and CBS News report that President Trump hosted an elaborate black-tie dinner at the White House on Tuesday evening, November 18, 2025, in honor of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
The event took place in the East Room and included approximately 120 invited guests, with 30 from the Saudi delegation.
Notable Attendees
The dinner, held in the East Room, brought together a number of high-profile attendees, including Cabinet officials, major business leaders, and global sports figures, emphasizing the visit’s strategic focus on economic and technological cooperation and relationships.
The Hill reports that among the prominent guests were Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Apple CEO Tim Cook, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, Portuguese soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo, Vice President JD Vance and second lady Usha Vance, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
Ronaldo, who plays for Saudi club Al Nassr, was seated near the head of Trump’s table, while Musk was seated at a different candlelit table.
Trump’s Remarks and Ronaldo’s Introduction

During his pre-dinner speech, Trump gave Ronaldo a special shoutout, noting that he introduced his soccer-enthusiast son Barron, age 19, to the legendary player.
Trump reportedly said that Barron now respects his father more simply because of making that introduction. Trump also told guests that “this room is loaded up with the biggest leaders in the world.”
Musk’s Attendance and Relationship Status
The New Zealand Herald reports that Musk’s presence at the dinner signals that the rift between him and Trump has healed after their public falling out.
The relationship had collapsed in July after Musk criticized Trump’s spending bill and made comments about the president appearing in investigatory files related to Jeffrey Epstein.
Musk had previously spent five months as head of the Department of Government Efficiency and had accompanied Trump on a trip to Saudi Arabia in May.
The Crown Prince’s Visit Context
CBS News reports that the dinner was part of an elaborate arrival ceremony earlier that day, which included a military band, horseback procession, and fighter jets flying over the White House.
In the Oval Office meeting, Crown Prince Mohammed announced that Saudi Arabia would increase its planned investment in the United States from $600 billion to closer to $1 trillion.
Trump also announced that the United States would sell F-35 fighter jets to Saudi Arabia, and during the dinner, Trump designated Saudi Arabia as a major non-NATO ally, which provides defense, trade, and security cooperation benefits.
Ronaldo’s Saudi Connection

NBC News reports that this was Ronaldo’s first visit to the United States since 2014 and his attendance was a major headline of the evening, highlighting the Kingdom’s “soft power” initiatives in global sports.
Ronaldo currently plays for Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League on a contract reportedly worth over $200 million per year, having joined in December 2022. His decision to join the Saudi league set the stage for other stars like Neymar and Karim Benzema to follow in 2023.
Conclusion
This White House dinner represented Trump’s first formal event honoring a foreign leader in his second term and underscored the administration’s focus on strengthening economic and security ties with Saudi Arabia.
It was a convergence of global political, economic, and cultural power using celebrity figures like Ronaldo and Musk to add a layer of personal and public interest to the high-stakes diplomatic visit between the USA and Saudi Arabia.
