Bayern beat Union Berlin 7-0 on Friday evening to kick off the Oktoberfest season in style. That is the polite version. The honest version is that the Allianz Arena turned into a scoring party, and the visitors were the ones getting served.
Bayern Munich vs Union Berlin: How the Goals Came

Bayern were dominant from the start. Alphonso Davies won the ball high up the pitch and found Jamal Musiala, who unleashed a superb strike into the far corner in the 18th minute.

Tom Rothe brought down Olise in the box, and Harry Kane sent Rønnow the wrong way from the spot. Olise added the third in the 43rd minute, assisted by Musiala, and it was 3-0 at the break.

The second half was pure punishment. Kane met an Olise cross and flicked a clever finish past Rønnow at the near post in the 54th minute.

Ismael Saibari then skipped past two defenders and smashed a left-footed finish home on 70. Then Olise struck twice in three minutes, in the 73rd and 76th, both assisted by Tom Bischof.
Harry Kane Makes History

The penalty was no ordinary goal. It was Kane’s 100th Bundesliga goal in just 98 appearances. His second goal took his total to 101 goals in 99 matches, and the previous record for the fastest to a century was 129 games, set by Dieter Müller. Kane beat that mark by 30 games. Records like this rarely fall so easily.
Michael Olise: The Hat-Trick Hero

This was Olise’s first Bayern hat-trick, and his only previous career treble came in an international friendly against Northern Ireland. His first goal was the kind of finish that shows why Bayern fans adore him. Bundesliga.com gave his third-minute-of-the-half strike a 2 percent chance of going in, yet he made it look routine. He also set up Kane, so he was involved in four of the seven goals.
The Stats Behind the Massacre

The numbers tell the same story. Bayern’s expected goals were 3.90 against 0.23 for Union. They had 23 shots, 15 on target, and seven of them found the net. Union did create a few chances after halftime, with Janik Haberer and Tom Rothe forcing saves from Manuel Neuer, but that was only a footnote in a one-sided night.
What It Means for the Bundesliga Table

This was an important response. Bayern had been unconvincing against two promoted teams, drawing 0-0 with Schalke and beating Elversberg 2-1, and this win took them to 10 points from four games. Vincent Kompany made six changes, bringing back Tah, Kimmich, Davies, Luis Díaz, Musiala and Neuer. That is squad depth working exactly as planned.
Union Berlin remain on one point in 16th place. Bayern’s next league game is away at Augsburg on 10 October, after the international break.
Final Whistle

Bayern have their swagger back. Kane is chasing history, Olise is playing like a superstar and Kompany has a squad that can rotate without losing bite. Every giant stumbles sometimes, but only the ones who get up with faith and hard work keep winning trophies. On this evidence, Bayern are up and running.
