Liverpool FC’s form continues to deteriorate as they suffer yet another outing in this season’s UEFA Champions League campaign. Interestingly, PSV enjoyed a 3-2 victory in their last encounter with Liverpool early this year. Their campaign has been mixed with varieties of results- 1 win, 2 draws and a loss.

The first goal came just 5 minutes into the game when Ivan Perisic calmly converted from the penalty spot, as he sent the ball into the lower right corner, making his first goal of the season for PSV.
After a series of exchange of possession, Liverpool leveled the scoreline through Dominik Szoboszlai who sent a clinical effort from inside the penalty area into the lower center of the post in the 16th minute just after Mac Allister’s effort was denied a minute earlier.
The hosts then seized control of the game for the remainder of the first period but were unlucky as the scoreline remained deadlocked 1-1 at the end of the first half.
The action resumed for the second half with the Reds showing their intent as Szoboszlai delivered a shot on target in the 47th minute but couldn’t find the goal. PSV then sustained pressure and were rewarded in the 56th minute when Guus Til assisted by Júnior sent the ball past Marmardashbili.
Liverpool struggled to find another leveler but were unfortunate to concede again when substitute Couhaib Driouech put the ball into the net to extend PSV’s lead in the 63rd minute.
The hosts then replied with a tactical substitution as Federico Chiesa came on for Ibrahima Konate, but Driouech sealed the game with another goal bring the scoreline to 1-4 which lasted till the final whistle.
