Date: November 8th 2025
Kick Off: 12:30pm
Venue: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London

Match Context

This Saturday lunchtime fixture is arguably the most crucial Premier League match of the weekend, with 6th-placed Tottenham and 8th-placed United level on 17 points, separated only by a goal difference. A victory for either side could propel them to provisional second place in the Premier League table.

The pressure is high, particularly on the home side, Tottenham, who are seeking to end an inconsistent run of domestic form.
For United, this match is an opportunity to continue their recent resurgence under Ruben Amorim and end Spurs’ recent dominance in this rivalry.

This fixture carries significant emotional weight, as it marks the first meeting between these sides since Spurs’ memorable 1-0 victory over United in the Europa League final at Bilbao last season, which ended Spurs’ 17-year wait for silverware.
That triumph denied United Champions League football this season, adding an extra layer of motivation for Ruben Amorim’s men.

Head-to-Head History

Both clubs have clashed 204 times, with United winning 96 of those games, Tottenham winning 57, and 51 ending as draws.

Sports Mole reports that Spurs head into this contest seeking to win three consecutive top-flight matches against Manchester United for the first time since the 1959-60 campaign.

Tottenham completed the EPL double over United last season and also won a thrilling 4-3 League Cup quarterfinal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The last time United beat Spurs was in October 2022, when goals from Fred and Bruno Fernandes secured a 2-0 win at Old Trafford.

Current Form and Momentum

Tottenham: Tottenham suffered a wretched 1-0 home defeat to Chelsea last weekend, being booed off the pitch by their own fans, but bounced back emphatically with a 4-0 Champions League victory over Copenhagen on Tuesday night.

After beating Burnley on the opening matchday, Spurs have drawn with Wolves and lost to Bournemouth, Aston Villa, and Chelsea at home in the EPL this season.

Reports state that over the last 12 months, Spurs have won just 4 out of 20 home league games at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, drawing 4 and losing 12.
This dismal home record stands in stark contrast to their impressive away performances and remains the primary concern for Thomas Frank heading into this fixture.

Manchester United: The Red Devils have seemingly found form under Ruben Amorim, going unbeaten through October and winning 3 of their last 4 games, including an impressive 2-1 victory over Liverpool at Anfield. Their recent 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest helped them climb up to 8th place.
This represents their joint best run of form under Amorim.
United are winless in their last 7 meetings against Spurs in all competitions. No team has won five in a row against Manchester United since Liverpool between 2000 and 2002, making Spurs’ recent dominance historically significant, according to The Analyst.

Amorim is yet to beat Tottenham since taking over at Old Trafford, and the Europa League final defeat still stings.

Squad News: Injuries/Absences

Spurs could be missing as many as 10 players, with James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski, Radu Dragusin, Dominic Solanke, Yves Bissouma, Ben Davies, Archie Gray, and Kota Takai all ruled out through injury. Additionally, Lucas Bergvall is unavailable due to concussion protocols, while Mohammed Kudus remains a fitness doubt after missing the Copenhagen match with a knock.

United comes into this match with a nearly full-strength squad. Lisandro Martinez is the only confirmed absentee, while Harry Maguire carries a minor doubt but is not considered a major doubt.

Prediction

Given Spurs’ injury woes and home struggles, combined with United’s momentum and superior rest, this game looks perfectly set up for a tight affair.

Spurs have the quality to rise to the occasion, but United’s improved defensive stability and counter-attacking threat make them more dangerous, so expect an entertaining, high-intensity affair.
The game could swing either way, though Tottenham’s desperate need to address their home struggles may provide the extra motivation required.

Expected Outcome: Tottenham Hotspur 1-1 Manchester United
