60-year-old Australian Manager, Ange Postecoglou, experienced a turbulent 2025 that saw him win the UEFA Europa League with Tottenham Hotspur, ending the club’s 17-year trophy drought, only to be sacked due to an abysmal EPL season. His brief stint at Nottingham Forest followed as a replacement for Manager Esprito Santo, which lasted just 39 days before being dismissed after eight winless games.

Presently, reports indicate fresh interest from European clubs with Big Ange reportedly open to new challenges.

  • Celtic FC: The most notable update currently is that a Celtic reporter plans to bring back Big Ange to Parkhead for a second spell. Most notably, his previous spell at Celtic was a successful one, which he led the club to two League titles, two Scottish cups and a League Cup achievement, transforming the team with his attacking philosophy. The Scottish giants are actively seeking a replacement for Brendan Rodgers, who left the Head coach role amid a challenging start to the season and internal tensions. This potential return move could be tagged a Big Ange reunion.
  • Bayer Leverkusen: The German Champions discussed Postecoglou internally as a potential top target to replace sacked Erik Ten Hag, who got off on a poor start. Postecoglou’s familiarity with high-pressure tactical systems aligns with Leverkusen’s system under the previous Manager Xabi Alonso.
  • Fenerbahce: Following Jose Mourinho’s sacking due to failure in securing Champions League qualification, the Turkish club also set their sights on Postecoglou.
  • Juventus: speculative reports have it that Ange was discussed as a potential replacement for Igor Tudor, but no formal approach has taken place because the main favourite is Luciano Spalleti.

Big Ange is still seen as resilient and experienced, with a great reputation for awakening and invigorating underperforming teams. He is reportedly taking his time even while Celtic’s approach seems the most forthcoming.
