Estêvão and Rodrygo were both instrumental in Brazil’s 5-0 friendly victory over South Korea today. The Seoul World Cup Stadium beamed with cheers when the later opened scoring for Brazil in the 13th minute after slotting home a ball from Newcastle skipper Bruno Guimarães.
Rodrygo then doubled their lead in the 41st minute when he latched onto a pass from Casemiro which he was able to tuck nicely at the bottom corner of the net.
Both men then found the back of the net again in 47th and 49th minutes, increasing their advantage to four goals just after halftime.
Shortly afterwards, Madrid’s Vinicius Junior got his name on the scoresheet when he broke down the pitch and converted in the 77th minute.
Brazil Coach, Carlo Ancelotti in a post-match interview praised their incredible start to the World Cup highlighting the team’s great quality, “ Our journey to the World Cup started today and started well because the team played very well. I enjoyed the game, obviously, because the team showed great quality,” he said.
“Today the team showed it can play at this level, with intensity, quality, and commitment. Since I’ve been here, I’ve been talking about collective commitment. This is a foundation, and when the team has this foundation, we have a great chance of doing things well,” he added.
Next Fixture
Brazil will play one more friendly match against Japan this International Window on Tuesday morning. While South Korea will host Paraguay and Bolivia on Tuesday this month and 14th November respectively.
