Augsburg delivered a commanding home performance to defeat Wolfsburg 3-1 in a lively Bundesliga clash. The victory marked another step forward for Augsburg, who have shown renewed confidence and attacking sharpness under their new manager. Wolfsburg, on the other hand, were once again undone by defensive lapses and poor transitions.
The home side came flying out of the blocks and wasted no time stamping their authority on the game. Inside the opening three minutes, Augsburg were ahead when Mert Kömür slipped a precise pass through the Wolfsburg defense for Noahkai Banks, who calmly slotted past Koen Casteels to make it 1-0. The early goal set othe tone for an energetic first half dominated by Augsburg’s pressing and quick transitions.

Wolfsburg struggled to build rhythm, with Augsburg’s midfield trio winning second balls and dictating the tempo. Kömür, who was the standout performer, doubled Augsburg’s lead early in the second half. Cutting inside from the left flank, he curled a low effort into the far corner in the 51st minute to make it 2-0.
Augsburg continued to press high, and their aggression paid off again in the 63rd minute when Robin Fellhauer pounced on a defensive error to smash home a third goal. The hosts were in full control, but Wolfsburg finally found a lifeline two minutes later as Adam Daghim converted from close range after a scramble in the box.

Despite the goal, Wolfsburg never truly threatened a comeback, with Augsburg controlling the closing stages and even coming close to a fourth goal through substitute Ermedin Demirović. The final whistle confirmed a richly deserved victory for the home side, who continue to climb the Bundesliga standings.
