Hansi Flick has joined the league of elite coaches of FC Barcelona, becoming the third-fastest tactician to reach 50 wins in fewer matches in the Club’s history.
Flick achieved the feat on Thursday in the 3-1 comeback away win over Real Oviedo in La Liga. The victory means the German tactician has reached a half century of wins in 67 games in just 15 months.
Flick’s Achievements
Only Luis Enrique and Helenio Herrera have better records at Barcelona and Enrique reached the feat in just 60 games, while Herrera did it in 63 games.
Flick’s feat has already produced three trophies that formed part of the triple won last season. Under his watch, Barca plays an entertaining, high-pressing game, enabling them have a free-scoring record. The team aims to retain their crowns in the domestic league and win the UEFA Champions League this season.
Barcelona face Sociedad’s test as Yamal returns
The Spanish giant claimed their sixth win in seven games across all competitions this season at the Carlos Tartiere stadium, but they are 2 points behind their archrival, Real Madrid who have won all their games this seaon.
Flick will now be aiming to pick up win No. 51 on Sunday when Barcelona host Real Sociedad in La Liga. The match at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys is slated for 5:30pm Nigerian time .
Transfer Expert, Fabrizio Romano, announced that wonderkid Lamine Yamal will make his return in the match as he is available for selection after recovering from his injury.
