Cristiano Ronaldo’s Saudi Arabian side, Al Nassr FC, today opens the Roshn Saudi Pro League as they travel to Al Taawoun. The team who lost the Saudi Super Cup in a penalty shootout against Al Ahli on Saturday are looking forward to a redemption and blissful start to the season when they take on Saudi Pro League rivals later today.
Al Nassr has drawn their last two fixtures with Al Taawoun early this year—in May and January. However, Cristiano Ronaldo has urged Al Nassr fans to support them as they kick off the league campaign with a tough game, which is always difficult for them. It is really important that they grab all three points, especially as they will go on international break right after this game.
Al Nassr has failed to win their opening games in the last two seasons and hopes to flip their luck against rivals Al Taawoun later today. Al Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo, ahead of today’s game, sent out a heartfelt message to fans: “Tomorrow, the league begins. We’ve trained. We’re ready. But we can’t do it alone… we need you.
We’ll be there giving it everything we’ve got. Fighting for the badge, for the team, for every one of you. Will you be there with us all the way?
Let’s make it unforgettable.”

Club manager Jorge Jesus, speaking on the fixture, said they (Al Nassr) have been working on improving the team and building a strong, united team. “We’re already in Al Qassim and ready for what’s ahead,” he remarked.

Possible starting XI
Goalkeeper Bento will likely start behind Al Fatil Mohammed, Lajami Ali, Alganham Sultan, and Al Boushal Nawaf on the back line. While Yahya Ayman and Otavio will play in midfield to bolster the attack of the trio—Brozovic Marcelo, Abudulmajeed, and Mane Sadio. Cristiano Ronaldo will lead the attack from the center forward position.
Meanwhile, Al Taawoun side has also been fastening loose ends, as they recently completed a move for Salem Al Najdi, who joined the club on a one-year loan deal.
The trio Inigo, Joao Felix, and Kingsley Coman are also set and hopeful for their league debuts later on today.
