It is also clear that Messi wants to come back and say a proper goodbye, a hint at a deeper connection with the Club. Also, in an exclusive interview from Miami, Messi opened up on this moment, his dreams, hopes for the future, and past experience saying last night’s visit was to a place he missed terribly as he was immensely happy there. Life at Inter Miami
The 8 times Ballon d’Or winner who now currently plays for Inter Miami in the US Major League Soccer is yet to lift the league trophy since joining the club in 2023 from Paris Saint-Germain. This visit to the Spotify Camp Nou may hint at an unhappy life at the Chase Stadium as some fans expressed but the Argentine is yet to comment on such allegations. Inter Miami has only won a knockout competition – the 2023 Leagues Cup, during Messi’s time at the club.
However, Messi seems to be okay as he became the fastest player in MLS history to reach 40 career goals in a regular season (21 goals, 19 assists). He also won the 2025 MLS Golden Boot which was presented by Audi and has had a magical d time at Inter Miami with multitude of record-setting performances.
