Barcelona completed a second half 3-1 comeback victory over new promoted club Real Oviedo in an amazing display of talent and skills.
Oviedo got the lead in the first half but could only cling on to it till the 56th minute when Barcelona leveled the scores. From then it was downhill for the host who conceded two more. Eric García now holds the record for the La Liga defender with the most goals in all competitions since Hans Flick arrived last season with a total of six goals, five of them being away goals.
Meanwhile Hansi Flick now boasts of 50 wins in just 67 matches in all competitions for Barcelona. He is now the third manager in the history of the club to reach this milestone faster after Luis Enrique’s 60 matches in 2015 and Helenio Herrera’s 64 matches in 1959.
Match Overview
The game started with pressure from both sides. Barcelona almost got a goal in the first half when Rashford tried a half volley which was goalbound but Escandell was able to palm the ball off the line.
The scuffle went on till the 33rd minute when Real Oviedo got a breakthrough from a long Reina clearance which drew Joan Garcia out of his line into a crowd of players. Reina claimed the loose ball and with Garcia still stranded out on the left wing, some 30 yards out of goal, Reina was able to send a looping ball over a back-tracking defense into the net.

Barcelona leveled the game in the 56th minute of the second half when a corner was played short and fell on the feet of Torres whose effort was parried by goalkeeper Escandell but he couldn’t send the ball far and Eric Garcia who was close by shot it into the bottom corner.
After numerous attempts, the second goal came in the 70th minute through substitute Lewandowski as he climbed in front of Bailly and headed the ball in.
Finally Barca sealed the comeback with just two minutes of regular play time left through a corner delivery from Rashfordwhich skipper Araujo was able to head beyond Escandell into the bottom corner.

This win reduces the gap between Barca and league leaders Real Madrid to two points. The Catalans will host Real Sociedad on Sunday for the 7th game of the season while Real Oviedo will travel to face Valencia on Monday night.
