Earlier today, Liverpool FC announced that 17 year old winger Rio Ngumoha has had signed his first professional contract. This contract is a three year deal worth around £52,000 a year, which will run till June 2028 in line the Football Association (FA) rules for players under 18.

He was previously not allowed to sign a full pro deal as at the time of the Newcastle game as he was only 16 year and 361 days old which was under the limit as per the club’s limitations. But following his birthday on August 29, Liverpool had to act fast to claim the star for themselves.
Ngumoha who joined the Reds from Chelsea in July 2024 has featured in five senior matches this season, most recently in Tuesday’s 2-1 win over Southampton in the Carabao Cup and even got a Premier League debut goal against Newcastle United where he netted in the 100th minute giving his side the victory, making him Liverpool’s youngest ever league scorer.

Ngumoha has featured in U18, U19, and U21 for the Reds in 2024/25 and was handed his senior debut in an Emirates FA Cup match against Accrington Stanley in January.
This agreement underscores Liverpool’s commitment and investment in his development as a forward, training alongside first team stars under manager Arne Slot.
