Barcelona have locked down their goal machine. Raphinha has signed a new contract that keeps him at Camp Nou until June 2030, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, and an official ceremony could follow as soon as Friday. For Barca fans, it is the best kind of international-break news: the captain is staying.
The Raphinha Contract Details
His previous deal, signed in May 2025, ran until June 2028, so Barcelona have moved early to add two more years. No salary or release clause has been disclosed, and the club has not issued its own statement yet, so treat the paperwork as reported until Friday.

The renewal was no surprise. Sporting director Deco revealed at the club’s general assembly on September 19 that an initial agreement was in place and would be signed soon.
Why Barcelona Moved Now

Because Raphinha is on fire. Playing as a centre-forward rather than his usual wing role, he leads La Liga’s scoring charts with 12 goals in seven games. He has reportedly scored 14 in his first eight appearances in all competitions. He is also Barcelona’s first-choice captain, taking the armband after Marc-André ter Stegen’s loan move to Ajax.

Deco has been busy elsewhere too. Marc Bernal and Xavi Espart are close to new deals, while Fermín López has already extended until 2031.
From Doubt to Hero
It was not always this smooth. Raphinha joined from Leeds United in 2022 for roughly 58 million euros, then battled injuries and transfer speculation. Then Hansi Flick arrived, and everything changed.

Raphinha has now made 185 appearances for Barcelona, with 89 goals and 62 assists. He has won three La Liga titles and three Spanish cups. After the 2024-25 treble he was named LaLiga Player of the Season, with 34 goals and 25 assists in 57 club games.
Ballon d’Or Snub, Contract Win

Here is the twist. Raphinha was left off the 30-man Ballon d’Or shortlist, which sparked fan fury. Barcelona’s response was simple: ignore the voters, pay the man and keep the armband on his sleeve.
