Rumoured reports from Italian media outlets state that Juventus is actively monitoring Chelsea’s right-back Malo Gusto, 22 years old, ahead of a potential move in the January 2026 transfer window. The dire need for Juventus to strengthen their defensive options at the right-back position, particularly under interim manager Massimo Brambilla, with the view of having attack-minded full-backs with long-range crossing and defensive capability, is a profound attribute Gusto possesses.
Juventus pursued a near-deal in the summer for their top choice, Atletico Madrid’s Nahuel Molina, but Gusto has seemingly emerged as a bright possible alternative option due to his youthful qualities, positional versatility, and proven Premier League form and experience.
Gusto has achieved 14 assists and recorded nearly 100 appearances since moving to South West London (Stamford Bridge) from Lyon for 30 million euros in January 2023. However, this season, the consistent fitness and availability of Reece James have somewhat put him in the shadows of the Blues Academy graduate.

Chelsea value Gusto highly (around £50 million), and so does head coach Enzo Maresca, who still sees Gusto as a key part of his project, so allowing a mid-season sale seems unlikely unless Juventus tables an irresistible offer. Juventus is focusing on strategic reinforcements amid financial constraints. Gusto joining Juventus aligns with Cristiano Giuntoli’s focus on youth in his smart, cost-effective rebuild at the club.
With Chelsea not desperate to sell Gusto, as his contract runs until 2030, any bid from Juventus is very tempting, possibly involving add-ons or player swapping. With nothing advanced yet, as the rumour is being propagated by Italian media, the Gusto deal could be intensified if Molina’s deal proves difficult. The January window is worth anticipating, as it is nothing short of transfer surprises.
