Newcastle have now won seven of their last eight league games against Nottingham Forest. The Magpies claimed all three points earlier today at St. James’ Park after beating Forest 2-0. The hosts started out strong and got two early opportunities to take the lead but Joelinton was unable to convert. With the fans chanting, cheering and roaring for an opener, the Magpies came close severally and got their first just before the hour mark as Dan Burn fed Bruno Guimarães who curled beautifully from the edge of the box into the top corner.

Troubled Forest sought for control but were further thrown into chaos through a Newcastle corner which fell on the path of Woltemade who was only able to rattle the underside of the crossbar. Goalkeeper Sels was phenomenal in goal denying the Magpies several efforts at goal. He soon ran out of luck in the 84th minute when ex-Magpie player Elliot Anderson fouled Guimarães in the area and Newcastle had to go to the spot which Woltemade was able to convert.
Woltemade is now the third Newcastle player after Les Ferdinand and Alan Shearer to score in his first top-flight home matches.

Newcastle has kept a clean sheet in their last five home league wins while Ange Postecoglou remains without a win after seven games in charge of Forest.
