NEW: PSG’s €75 Million Osimhen Gamble: Can Paris Finally Land Their Man

Victor Osimhen has become the most talked about striker Paris Saint-Germain never quite manage to sign, and this summer the chase is heating up again. Reports now suggest PSG have circled back with a fresh €75 million proposal for the Galatasaray and Nigeria forward, reigniting one of European football’s longest-running transfer sagas just weeks after the World Cup ended.

A Rivalry With History

This is not PSG’s first attempt. The French champions were reportedly ready to pay up to €200 million for Osimhen and his former Napoli strike partner Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in a package deal, and have since floated bids ranging from €100 million to €150 million as Osimhen’s stock climbed in Istanbul. Every previous approach has stalled for the same reason: Galatasaray simply have no incentive to sell. Having paid Napoli €75 million for him permanently in July 2025, a record-breaking fee that shattered Turkish football’s transfer ceiling, the Süper Lig champions are under zero financial pressure to let their talisman go, especially with Osimhen tied to a contract running until 2029.

Why PSG Keep Coming Back

The trigger this time is reportedly Gonçalo Ramos’s uncertain future in Paris. The Portuguese forward has struggled to fully convince head coach Luis Enrique, and with interest from clubs across Italy and England, his departure could finally free up the space and the budget PSG need to make a serious move. Enrique has made no secret of wanting a more direct, physical presence in the box to complement wide talents like Ousmane Dembele and Bradley Barcola, and Osimhen’s profile, pace, strength, and clinical finishing, fits that brief precisely.

The Numbers That Make the Case

Osimhen’s output since arriving in Turkey has been relentless. He delivered 37 goals in his debut loan season, followed it up with 26 league goals in 30 appearances as Galatasaray secured a domestic double, and has continued producing at an elite rate this season with 20 goals and eight assists in 32 matches. He has also become the most prolific Nigerian in UEFA competition history, a statistic that only strengthens Galatasaray’s resolve to hold firm on their valuation rather than accept anything close to the €75 million PSG are reportedly offering.

Galatasaray Holding All the Cards

Turkish football insiders and fans on social media have been quick to point out the mismatch between PSG’s opening offer and Galatasaray’s stated demands, with club president Dursun Ozbek previously insisting no negotiations would even begin below €100 million. That gap, combined with Osimhen’s central role in an attacking trio alongside Mauro Icardi and Leroy Sane, makes a cut-price €75 million bid feel more like an opening probe than a serious closing offer.

What Happens Next

For now, Osimhen remains a Galatasaray player, and unless PSG significantly improve their offer or Galatasaray’s stance softens unexpectedly, this saga looks set to run deep into the summer window once again. Nigerian football fans have watched this exact story unfold before, and the smart money says patience, not a fresh €75 million bid, will ultimately decide where Victor Osimhen plays his football next season.
