Game Overview
Barcelona returned to action after sharing a point with Rayo Vallecano just before the international break.
Barcelona took control of the game early and close to registering a goal under 4 minutes of play but the efforts of Lopez were thwarted by the Valencia defence and Rashford fired high and wide of the left post from the penalty area.
Another opportunity soon surfaced a minute later for Rashford when Kounde fired straight at Agirrezabala from six yards out which he he saved with his feet onto the path of Rashford who shot it wide of the right post.
The hosts were all over their visitors and got a reward for their efforts in the 29th minute when Fermin Lôpez side-footed a flick on from Torres past goalkeeper Agirrazabala into the bottom corner of the post.

The game grew more intense as Barcelona made several advances at goal. One particular effort was a Barca corner that was headed out by Valencia’s defense on to the path of Casado whose shot from 20 yards was blocked by Diakhaby for another corner.
Estadi Johan Cruyff soon saw an uproar from the host fans as Raphinha doubled the lead with a teasing cross from the left flank just 8 minutes into the second half.
Three minutes later, Fermin Lôpez got his second for the night and Barca’s third through a left-footed effort from 25 yards out into the bottom left corner of the net.
In a bid to bring some form of salvation to his side, Corberan made a triple substitution just after the goal taking off Arnaut Danjuma, Javi Guerra, and Diego Lôpez for Largie Ramazani, Filip Ugrinic and Luis Rioja.
This could not restrain Barca as they increased their lead to 4 through another Raphinha’s shot into the bottom-right corner of the net from 12 yards.
Barcelona then made a double subscription afterwards one of which Robert Lewandowski came on for Ferran Torres. Shortly after that, Lopez made his way into the Valencia 12 yard area and fired towards goal but Agirrezabala made a nice save with his feet.
Barca didn’t hold back as substitute, Lewandowski grabbed his first of the night in the 76th minute when Olmo played a short throughball into his path. He curled the ball into the top right corner of the net.

Ten minutes later the Polish international got a second goal through an assist from Bernal raising the hosts’ goal tally to 6. Lewandowski has now scored eight LaLiga goals in six marches against Valencia.
Barcelona are now considered as tremendous contenders for the title as they are only two points away from league leaders Real Madrid and are yet to loose a game this season. They will go on to face Newcastle on Thursday in the First Round of this season’s UEFA Champions League.
