In a tremendously entertaining game Millwall got their first home victory of this season putting them in tenth place ahead of Swansea and Charlton in the league standings. Going into the game Millwall has won four of their last six league matches against Watford which was twice as many as they had won in their previous 18 against the Hornets. Millwall had also lost at home to Watford in 2024/25 and they were looking consecutive away wins at the Lions for the first time since January 2012.
All seven points Millwall had before this game had been from away games losing two games at the Den so far. While Watford had won just two points in their last eight away matches since winning 0-1 at Middlesbrough in February.
Lineups
Millwall had goalkeeper Benda behind Leonard, Crama, Cooper and Bryan while Neghli, Luongo, Mazou-Sacko and Emakhu plain midfield behind forwards Ballo and Coburn.
On the other half of the field was Selvik in goal with Pollock, Keben and Alleyne on the back line. Bola, Kyprianou, Louza, N. Mendy and F. Mendy played in midfield behind Irakunda and Sernedo.
The only goal of the game came early in the game with only ten minutes gone midfielder Camiel Neghli was able to find the back of the net from a free kick with a left-footed shot into the top right corner. Four minutes later, Jake Cooper missed an opportunity to increase the lead as he fired a left footed shot from close range too high.

Watford then claimed possession of the game and came really close to leveling the scores through a set up from Hector Kyprianou for Imrân Louza who shot from outside the box high and wide to the right of the post. Watford then kept the greater possession of the ball with both teams creating dangerous opportunities but none was able to convert and the game ended 1-0 in Millwall’s favour.

Millwall will travel to face Swansea on Saturday while Watford will host Hull City on the same date in another round of the Championship.
