On the 30th of October 2025, Juventus officially announced the appointment of Luciano Spalletti as their new head coach via the club’s official website. The 66-year-old is appointed reportedly on a short-term deal running until June 30, 2026, with an automatic extension/renewal clause if Juventus qualifies for the Champions League.
Purpose Surrounding The Appointment

This appointment follows the dismissal of Tudor, who had an 8-match winless run and three consecutive losses, Juventus’s longest poor winless run of form since 2009. After Tudor’s departure, interim coach Massimo Brambilla guided the team to a 3-1 home victory over Udinese, ending the negative run.
Spalletti will take over the leadership and management of the squad in an away game against Cremonese on November 1st, 2025, as his first match in charge of the Bianconeri, followed by a home game against Sporting CP in the Champions League.
Luciano Spalletti’s Profile
Mr. Spalletti brings a wealth of experience and expertise to Juventus’ management. Even though he had a poor World Cup qualification campaign that led to his dismissal as the Italy National Team Manager in June 2025, he is best known for leading Napoli to the Serie A Scudetto title win in 2023, their first in 33 years. He managed Inter Milan, won two Coppa Italia trophies during his two spells at AS Roma, led Udinese to their first-ever Champions League qualification, and won two Russian titles with Zenit St. Petersburg. He is also the third manager to coach Juventus, Roma, and Inter Milan after Claudio Ranieri and Jesse Carver.
This appointment is a direct response to the team’s crisis under Tudor, and the club has turned to a proven winner to reverse their fortunes. This is Juventus’ third manager in 18 months, and while some might call it a bold gamble, it is still a major move by Juventus to bring in an elite, top-tier, experienced, winning manager to steady the ship and guide the team back to success.
