Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim will head into his 50th game in charge later today at Old Trafford, as he takes on Sunderland in the 7th round of this season’s campaign.
Amorim will have to win today’s game as none of the previous five permanent managers of the club had won their 50th games and a lose for him will be data to his career at the club. The Red Devils are now placed 14th on the league standings after last-weekend’s 3-1 lose to Brentford. They are also without back-to-back wins in the league under Amorim, a record which only four Premier League managers fall short of. United will remain positive as they have won successive home league games but are without three consecutive wins in over two years.

Sunderland who have the best start to a Premier League campaign for a promoted team since West Ham in 2012/13, are currently in 6th place in the league standings after last weekend’s 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest. They currently boast of four games unbeaten run.
Head-to-Head
This will be their first meeting since April 2017. United has lost just two of their last 30 league meetings with 22 wins and two draws.
United has won four of their last five fixtures against Sunderland and has lost just one. In addition, this has been the only win for Sunderland in their last 29 trips to with United or City in the Premier League.

Stats, Lineups, and Injuries
United has conceded 11 goals from 56 shots faced in the Premier League this season which is the worst record of this season. However they remain unbeaten in their last 24 League games against promoted sides.
On the other hand, six of Sunderland’s seven league goals have come in the second half while they have also seen the first card in four of their last five league matches.

Dorgu, Fernandes, Casemiro, and Dalot will hold the midline while Cunha, Mbeumo, and Sesko will lead the attack.
Sunderland will be without Cirkin, Diarra, Hjelde, Mundle, and Alese all due to injuries while Mandava is out from a Red card penalty.
The Black cats will sustain their 4-3-3 formation with Roefs in between the uprights. In defense they will have Geertruida, Mukiele, Alderete, and Hume with a midline of trio, Sadiki, Xhaka, and Le Fee. Going forward will be Talbi, Isidor, and Adingra.
