Paris Saint-Germain did not just beat Villarreal. They sprinted past them. The reigning champions turned a Champions League away day into a highlight reel, and the history books had to be reopened.
Four Goals, 16 Minutes, One Record

Luis Enrique’s side took just 16 minutes and two seconds to lead 4-0, a new Champions League record. Per Opta, it beat the old mark held by Real Madrid, who scored four in 20 minutes against Dinamo Zagreb in 2011.
Here is how the storm hit:
- 9 minutes: Joao Neves scored from a corner.
- 12 minutes: Desire Doue punished a mistake by keeper Peter Gulacsi.
- 13 minutes: Senny Mayulu made it 3-0.
- 17 minutes: Fabian Ruiz finished into the bottom-left corner, with Maghnes Akliouche providing his second assist of the night.

PSG also became the first team to score three away goals in the opening 13 minutes of a Champions League game. Villarreal barely had time to blink, let alone reset.
Fabian Ruiz Runs the Show

If the record was the headline, Ruiz was the author. He added his second in the 50th minute to make it 5-0.

He was named Player of the Match with a perfect 10 rating. Calm on the ball, sharp in the box, and always one step ahead, he made a world-class night look easy.
Missing Stars? Nobody Noticed

Here is the wild part. PSG played without Kvaratskhelia, Dembele, captain Marquinhos and Nuno Mendes, and the performance still looked flawless. Depth wins titles, and Paris keep proving theirs is deep.
Boly Steals a Piece of the Spotlight

Every great night needs a fairytale. Seventeen-year-old David Boly came on for Hakimi in the 76th minute and curled in the sixth from a Neves cross. It was his first goal on his Champions League debut.

At 17 years and 285 days, he became PSG’s second-youngest Champions League scorer, behind Warren Zaire-Emery. You can almost hear the commentators saying “remember the name.”
What It Means for the Table

PSG are the only team with a perfect 12 points from four games and sit top of the league phase as they chase a third straight Champions League title. They also equalled Lyon’s French record of 14 Champions League games unbeaten.

For Villarreal, it was their worst home loss in the competition.

The message to Europe is loud and clear. This PSG side is fast, deep and hungry, and right now nobody looks able to slow them down.
